The Right Coverage for Your RV
There are several types of RVs, each of which can require a unique coverage plan. The main distinction that we will discuss with you first is whether you have a motorhome or a camper or travel trailer. Motorhomes have a motor or engine permanently attached to the RV, while campers and travel trailers are attached and can be removed from a motorized vehicle.
There are three classes of motorhomes.
- Class A: Class A motorhome RVs are large, usually between 20-40 feet in length. They are built on a commercial bus, truck or motor vehicle chassis, similar to that of a semi truck.
- Class B: Class B motorhomes are the smallest motorized RV, usually between 16 and 21 feet long. They resemble large commercial vans and are sometimes called “camper vans.”
- Class C: Class C motorhomes are midsized vehicles typically between 20-33 feet long. They have a living portion of the area that extends above the cab, or driving area, of the vehicle.
We offer RV insurance for all classes of motorhomes, whether they are lived in full time or only used recreationally.
Campers and Travel Trailers
There are a wide range of non-motorized campers and travel trailer RVs to choose from. They range from pop-up trailers, to mounted truck campers that attach behind a pickup truck, to large, fifth-wheel trailers. While these RVs do not require liability insurance on the road, it is wise to consider a policy to cover campers and travel trailers.
Insurance for Driving on the Road
Motorized RVs require at least liability insurance to be driven on the road in Arizona and across the US. Liability insurance protects you, up to certain limits, in the event that you are found responsible for damage to another vehicle or injury to a person or people while operating your RV.
Other Insurance Coverage Options
In addition to helping you meet the required liability limits for motor homes, the Fox Reliable Insurance team also offers bodily injury and property damage liability, uninsured motorist, comprehensive, collision, property protection and personal injury protection insurance for motorhomes, campers and travel trailers. These unique protection options help reimburse you and protect you financially when other incidents occur, such as damage to your RV during an accident, from a burglary, or otherwise.
